QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors Degree Masters Preferred
• MA DESE License or Waiver Eligible

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: Responsible for the instruction of 8th Grade Science and related classes at Gardner High School which has grades 8 through 12.

PERFORMANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Instruct students in 8th Grade Science and related classes.
2. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.
3. Plan prepare and deliver instructional activities.
4. Create positive educational climate for students.
5. Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
6. Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year.
7. Maintain electronic grade books.
8. Utilize various curriculum resources.
9. Integrate competencies goals and objectives into lesson plans.
10. Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational cultural and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.
11. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
12. Observe and evaluate students performance.
13. Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Per Teacher Contract
