The 6-12 Secondary English Language Arts Specialist will provide leadership expertise and oversight to 6-12 ELA programs services and initiatives that support our county districts and Public School Academies. They will facilitate and lead efforts that focus on evidence-based practices to improve outcomes in reading writing and disciplinary literacy for 6-12 students. They will support and assist district/building leaders and classroom teachers with the most current knowledge around the implementation of effective literacy practices secondary disciplinary literacy and secondary Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). They will serve on county and state level committees associations and networks.
- Bachelors degree in secondary education English Language Arts or related field required.
- Masters degree in literacy reading English Language Arts curriculum development educational leadership or related area required.
- Thirty graduate hours beyond the masters degree preferred.
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate required. Experience with disciplinary literacy MTSS or related secondary literacy programs preferred.
- Minimum five years of secondary teaching experience required. District leadership experience required.
Pay Range:$68422 - $89275 annually commensurate with experience and qualifications
Work Schedule: 187 days / 7.5 hours daily
