2nd Shift Supervisor, Shipping

Job Description:

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to direct and coordinate activities in the shipping department and includes training mentoring and coaching to employees. The 2nd Shift Shipping Supervisor will playa key role in coordinating with various departments to ensure that orders are processed efficiently inventory is maintained accurately and shipments meet quality standards.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage warehouse operations for proper inventory levels
• Manpower review and placement
• Communicate with customers
• Monthly reporting of Department measureables
• Conducts Coaching / Counseling sessions to resolve issues
• Ensures Training/Rotations are Established and all Safety policies and procedures are followed
• Enter Time Sheets of Subordinates and PTO
• Perform Associate Evaluations in a Timely Manner
• Ability to perform essential and subordinate duties and responsibilities
• Track Scrap Cost and Present Preventive Ideas to Management
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 years related work experience
• Basic level proficiency with PowerPoint Windows MS Word and MS Access
• Intermediate level proficiency with Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-year College Degree in Business Administration or Management
• Problem Solving Training
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems
• Previous supervisory experience

Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to promote and carry out the Astemo Philosophy

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills high level of accuracy
• Confers with and prepares reports for upper management and possibly other Astemo companies
• Maintains clean and orderly work environment
• Ensures all local state and federal laws and regulations are complied with in functional area
• Conducts performance evaluations for subordinate personnel and provides support / training as needed
• Provides strong leadership to subordinate personnel
• Interacts with various levels of associates
• Improves manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectives
• Maintains knowledge of all processes procedures and equipment
• Coordinates and recommends cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of organization needed

Essential to Job Functions Physical and/or Mental Restrictions:

• Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting standing walking and bending for the duration of the work day
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds 40 pounds occasionally push pull up to 50 pounds
• Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
• Full Motor Skills

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Will supervise associates

Software:

• Basic experience required in Windows and MS Office
• Intermediate experience required in Excel

Work Environment Travel Noise Smells Quiet Indoors or Outdoors etc.

• Requires 1% travel
• Factory Setting with Noise
