Job Summary

The Building Engineer is responsible for the operation maintenance and repair of building systems and equipment to ensure a safe functional and efficient facility. This role supports daily facility operations by performing preventative maintenance troubleshooting mechanical issues and responding to service requests.

Schedule: 2nd Shift

Pay: $35.00/hour

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on the applicants experience skills abilities geographic location and alignment with market data.

401(k) You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions dollar for dollar for the first 3%. For the next 2% ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing and mechanical equipment
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and maintain service records
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement timely repairs
  • Monitor building systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
  • Respond to work orders and emergency maintenance requests
  • Maintain compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Assist with vendor coordination and oversee contracted maintenance work
  • Maintain tools equipment and inventory of supplies
  • Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities and reports
  • Support facility upgrades renovations and special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school or certification preferred25 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering
  • Knowledge of HVAC electrical plumbing and mechanical systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read blueprints schematics and technical manuals
  • Basic computer skills (CMMS systems email reports)
  • EPA certification or other relevant licenses preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent standing walking bending and climbing ladders
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and various environmental conditions
