26.27 Before & After Care Program Site Coordinator (Part Time 25-30 Hours)

Position Overview

At KIPP St. Louis we believe every moment in a childs day should be filled with growth curiosity and joyeven before the first bell and after the last! Our Before & After Care Program is all about extending the magic of learning beyond the school day in a safe structured and fun environment where students can thriveacademically socially and emotionally.

As the Site Coordinator youll be the heartbeat of the programleading daily operations building joyful routines supporting staff and connecting with families. Youll help create a space where every child feels seen supported and excited to be there.

Reporting to the Before & After Care Program Manager this role also plays a key part in advancing KIPP St. Louis community workbreaking down barriers to access fostering belonging and embracing culturally responsive practices that reflect the brilliance of our kids and community.

10 Month; Grant Funded --->Part-time role - 20 - 25 hours

What you will do:

Program Leadership: 

• Oversee the daily execution of a safe joyful and well-organized Before & After Care program.

• Lead and manage program staff including scheduling role clarity and performance support.

• Guide and support the planning of small-group experiences for Reading Math or Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Specialists that strengthen students academic and social-emotional development.

• Ensure all systems for arrival transitions dismissal and emergency response run smoothly and reliably.

Staff Experience: 

• Champion a positive and inclusive environment grounded in KIPPs values of equity joy and excellence.

• Establish and reinforce consistent routines that create a strong sense of safety belonging and student ownership.

• Respond to behavior using proactive student-centered strategies rooted in restorative practices.

Operational Excellence:

• Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth program delivery including attendance tracking student transitions and facility management.

• Oversee daily meal and snack service in compliance with Missouri CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) guidelines by ensuring accurate meal counts proper food handling required documentation and adherence to all state and federal program requirements. 

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure a safe supportive and accessible environment for all students.

• Manage program budgets schedules and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and expand access for historically marginalized students.

Family & Community Engagement: 

• Build strong relationships with families ensuring they feel informed engaged and supported in their childs extended learning experience.

• Develop initiatives to increase student participation particularly among families facing economic or systemic barriers.

• Partner with community organizations mentors and local leaders to expand enrichment opportunities and provide additional resources for students.

• Collaborate with school leaders and the Program Manager to align program operations and address emerging needs.

Data Driven Decision Making

• Monitor program metrics student attendance and academic/social-emotional progress to drive equitable program improvements.

• Provide regular reports to the Vice President of Culture and Engagement ensuring program goals align with KIPPs broader mission of educational access and inclusion.

Additional duties within reason may be assigned; such duties must be considered as beneficial and impactful to the mission of the organization.

Qualifications :

What you bring to the table: 

• Relevant experience in youth development education or program coordination strongly preferred. 

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• 2 years of experience in education youth programming or community engagement.

• Proven track record of managing teams designing youth programs and driving student success.

• Experience working with diverse student populations and implementing equity-focused practices.

• Strong organizational problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.

• Ability to coach and develop staff in an identity-affirming student-centered environment.

• Deep commitment to equity inclusion and eliminating barriers to student success.

Physical demands/mental demands/environmental factors:

• Operate a computer and office equipment on a daily basis including Google Suite

• Assemble dinner and snacks in the kitchen

• Do occasional moderate lifting pushing and pulling

• Frequently move about inside the office/school to access materials and equipment

• Occasionally position self to interact with students

• Maintain emotional control under stress

• Interpret policy procedures and data

• Communicate effectively (verbal and written)

Hourly Rate: $25.00/hour
