FTE 1.0PRIMARY FUNCTIONProvides for the instruction of students with disabilities. Develops implements and coordinates individualized education programs for students enrolled in Special Education and general education OF DUTIES- Assists in identifying and evaluating individuals with special needs.- Instructs students with special needs.- Adjusts educational programs to assist the student in becoming as independent as possible.- Adapts classroom environment and prepares specialized materials to meet the needs of individual students.- Evaluates daily performances of each student and adjusts future instruction accordingly. Evaluates total program of each student through the use of tests/ observations.- Confers with parents at school by phone in writing and in making home visits.- As appropriate develops individual transition plans supports community-based instruction and supports students in integrated school environments.- Manages IEP meetings to determine appropriate instructional program for individuals with special needs.
