About the Role

Hello RNs! Ampersand Therapy is seeking a Private Duty School Nurse (PDN) to provide 1:1 nursing support for a student with medical needs in a school setting in Aurora this role youll provide individualized medical care throughout the school day supporting the students health and well-being while helping them safely access their education. Youll also assist with the students transportation to and from school as part of their care.

This is an excellent opportunity for nurses interested in pediatrics school-based care or providing consistent student-centered support. Youll work closely with the student family and school team to ensure their medical needs are supported throughout the school day and during transportation.

What Youll Do

• Provide 1:1 nursing support for a student with medical needs throughout the school day

• Assist with transportation for student

• Monitor and manage chronic medical conditions and student health needs

• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and care plans

• Respond to health concerns and emergencies while following school safety protocols

• Maintain accurate health documentation and ensure compliance with medical plans

• Collaborate closely with families school staff related service providers and medical teams

• Support student participation safety and access within the educational environment

• Participate in IEP and 504 meetings as appropriate
  

What Were Looking For

• Active Colorado State RN license

• School Nursing CDE endorsement (or willingness to obtain) preferred

• Ability to pass fingerprinting and background check

• Pediatric school nursing or medically complex care experience preferred.

• Strong clinical judgment communication organization and compassion
