Job Summary
We are looking for a Fixed Assets Accountant to join our Finance team and take ownership of fixed assets accounting processes across the UAEECA region.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely accounting of tangible and intangible fixed assets supporting CAPEX projects maintaining compliance with IFRS local and tax accounting requirements and partnering with Finance and business stakeholders across the region.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the accounting of tangible and intangible fixed assets across UAEECA including creation changes transfers and disposals.
- Calculate and control fixed assets depreciation in line with corporate local and tax accounting requirements.
- Create and release WBS elements for CAPEX projects related to fixed assets.
- Review and approve Purchase Orders (POs) related to the purchase or modification of fixed assets.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly GL reconciliations and accounting entries.
- Manage accounting and reporting for lease agreements in compliance with IFRS 16 including recognition and accounting of right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.
- Prepare supporting documentation schedules and explanations required for local and corporate audits and support the audit process within the area of responsibility.
- Perform monthly reconciliations investigate discrepancies and ensure proper clearing of accruals.
- Support BPC reconciliation and submission within the required timeline.
- Prepare data for statistical and other regulatory reporting when required.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS corporate accounting policies local legislation and tax requirements.
- Maintain and archive original accounting documents in accordance with company requirements.
- Support Balance Sheet reviews and ensure the accuracy and completeness of relevant accounts.
- Support internal and external audits providing the required information and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with the JDE Controls framework and relevant internal controls.
- Act as a backup for assigned accounting areas and provide support to other Finance processes when needed.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and related parties on accounting questions issues and documentation
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or Controlling.
- 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately and meet tight deadlines.
- Structured and process-driven approach to work.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Ability to work independently while also being a reliable team player.
- Experience in FMCG or another multinational company would be an advantage.
- English Intermediate level or higher.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP would be an advantage.
