Our client is a Ukrainian miltech startup developing advanced technological devices for Ukraines defense sector and is now looking for an Odoo Accountant to independently manage a broad range of accounting activities across two Ukrainian entities.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced accountant who is comfortable working directly in Odoo moving between different accounting processes resolving discrepancies and ensuring that financial data is complete accurate and properly supported.
The Odoo Accountant will work closely with Accounting Finance Treasury Procurement Supply Chain Warehouse Production and other business teams. The role will own recurring accounting deliverables maintain reliable records across multiple workflows and help improve how accounting transactions and controls operate within Odoo as the business scales.

Responsibilities:

• Independently manage a broad range of day-to-day accounting activities across two Ukrainian entities using Odoo.
• Process review and validate vendor bills customer invoices credit notes payments expenses journal entries and other accounting transactions.
• Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure transactions are recorded in the appropriate entity account period cost center and analytical category.
• Perform bank vendor customer intercompany balance-sheet and other account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies on a timely basis.
• Support and independently complete assigned month-end closing activities including accruals prepayments reclassifications reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable balances investigate aged or unmatched items and coordinate resolution with relevant stakeholders.
• Support accounting for fixed assets inventory movements procurement transactions employee expenses and other operational processes maintained in Odoo.
• Review the completeness and accuracy of supporting documents and follow up with business teams when information or approvals are missing.
• Maintain accounting master data and help protect the consistency and integrity of financial information across both entities.
• Identify transaction-flow issues incorrect system behavior or recurring data-quality problems and coordinate their resolution with Finance and Odoo support teams
• Participate in testing accounting workflows system changes and new Odoo functionality from an accounting-user perspective.
• Recommend and implement practical improvements to accounting workflows controls reconciliations and documentation within Odoo.
• Prepare accounting schedules internal reports audit support and transaction-level analysis as required.
• Maintain clear process documentation and provide guidance to colleagues on the correct use of accounting workflows in Odoo.
• Support ad hoc accounting priorities in a fast-changing environment and take ownership of issues through resolution.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Economics or a related field.
• 35 years of relevant accounting experience including independent responsibility for recurring accounting processes.
• Hands-on experience working in Odoo Accounting or substantial experience in another ERP system with the ability to become proficient in Odoo quickly.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting journal entries accounts payable accounts receivable bank transactions and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Experience supporting month-end close and resolving accounting discrepancies across multiple processes.
• Ability to work accurately across multiple entities priorities and transaction types.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills and confidence working with detailed financial data.
• High attention to detail sound accounting judgment and a strong sense of ownership.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders and follow issues through to completion.
• English level sufficient for working with system documentation and cross-functional communication.
• Fluency in Ukrainian.

Would be a plus:

• Experience working across multiple legal entities intercompany transactions or multi-currency activity.
• Experience with Odoo Expenses Purchase Inventory Manufacturing or Fixed Assets workflows.
• Experience in a manufacturing hardware technology defense-tech or high-growth startup environment.
• Experience supporting Odoo testing workflow improvement data cleanup or post-implementation stabilization.
• Familiarity with Ukrainian statutory accounting requirements and group-reporting environments.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits.
