A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Reading is seeking to appoint a Year 6 Teacher to join its team from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive school that values high-quality teaching strong pupil outcomes and a nurturing learning environment.

Year 6 plays a key role within the school supporting pupils as they prepare for transition to secondary education while building confidence independence and resilience.

You will teach a Year 6 class delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across the Key Stage 2 curriculum while preparing pupils for SATs and transition to secondary school.

The role includes supporting pupils in developing confidence in English Mathematics Reading and wider curriculum subjects through creative and differentiated teaching.

You will create an inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel supported challenged and motivated to achieve their full potential.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues parents and school leadership to maintain high standards of teaching and learning.

• Teach a Year 6 class across the KS2 curriculum

• Prepare pupils for SATs and secondary school transition

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons

• Assess pupil progress and provide clear constructive feedback

• Maintain accurate records and monitor attainment

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment

• Support pupils personal social and emotional development

• Contribute to wider school life and curriculum initiatives

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2

• Strong understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs preparation

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Commitment to creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment

Desirable

• Experience teaching Year 6

• Experience supporting pupils through SATs preparation

• Ability to contribute to wider school initiatives or extracurricular activities
