Role Overview

An ambitious and welcoming primary school in Lewisham is seeking a dedicated enthusiastic and focused Year 6 Teacher to join their Upper Key Stage 2 team this critical role you will inspire and guide a class of Year 6 pupils through their final year of primary education. You will create an engaging high-expectation learning environment designed to accelerate academic progress build confidence and ensure students are fully prepared for Key Stage 2 SATs and their smooth transition to secondary school. Applications are encouraged from experienced KS2 teachers as well as confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver vibrant rigorous lessons across the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum with a core focus on developing fluency in reading writing and mathematics.

• Implement targeted revision plans and small-group interventions to prepare pupils effectively for end-of-year statutory SATs examinations.

• Cultivate a safe supportive classroom culture that encourages resilience self-directed learning and positive behaviour.

• Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants the SENCo and phase leaders to provide adaptive support for pupils with SEND and extension for high attainers.

• Build strong communicative partnerships with parents and carers to track and support each childs academic and pastoral journey.

Key Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Primary Education Education Studies or a related discipline.

• Recognized UK teaching qualification with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).

• Proven teaching experience or thorough curriculum knowledge within Upper Key Stage 2 particularly Year 6 SATs preparation.

• Strong classroom management clear assessment strategies and an adaptive teaching approach.

• Legal right to work in the UK.
