An independent prep school in Surrey is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 5 Teacher to join its team from September. This is a full-time role within a nurturing and academically ambitious school that values curiosity creativity and high-quality teaching.

The school prides itself on delivering a broad and engaging curriculum encouraging pupils to become confident learners while preparing them for a successful transition to senior school.

You will take responsibility for a Year 5 class delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.

The role includes planning and teaching English Mathematics Science Humanities and foundation subjects while supporting pupils academic social and emotional development.

You will create an inspiring classroom environment that encourages independence resilience and high expectations for learning and behaviour.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues and specialist teachers to ensure excellent outcomes and a well-rounded educational experience for pupils.

• Teach a Year 5 class across the Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons

• Assess pupil progress and provide meaningful feedback

• Create a positive inclusive and stimulating classroom environment

• Support pupils personal social and emotional development

• Work collaboratively with colleagues parents and specialist staff

• Contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school life

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching within Key Stage 2

• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Passion for pupil progress and holistic development

Desirable

• Experience teaching Year 5 or Upper Key Stage 2

• Experience in an independent or prep school setting

• Ability to contribute to extracurricular or enrichment activities

• Strong understanding of transition preparation for senior school
