An outstanding primary school in Barnet is seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join its successful Key Stage 1 team from September. You will take responsibility for a Year 1 class delivering engaging and creative lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum while supporting pupils as they build upon the foundations established during the Early Years Foundation Stage.

The role will involve developing pupils literacy numeracy phonics and communication skills while fostering curiosity resilience and enthusiasm for learning. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel supported challenged and inspired to succeed.

Working closely with colleagues support staff and parents you will play a key role in ensuring that every pupil achieves their full potential academically socially and emotionally.

• Teach a Year 1 class across the full Key Stage 1 curriculum

• Deliver high-quality phonics and early reading instruction

• Plan engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners

• Assess pupil progress and provide effective feedback

• Support pupils personal social and emotional development

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting procedures

• Create a safe inclusive and stimulating learning environment

• Contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and events

Essential Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Experience teaching within EYFS or Key Stage 1

• Strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum

• Excellent knowledge of phonics and early reading development

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching Year 1

• Experience working within an outstanding primary school

• Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities and wider school life

• Commitment to continuous professional development and educational excellence
