A vacancy has arisen for a Warrant Officer (People Ops)to serve as APC WO Honours and Awards at HQ Air Command on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of being not before 07 December 2026 (or later subject to candidate status).Hybrid/flexible working options are available; however the role will require the successful candidate to work at HQ Air Comd on a periodic basis.
The APC Honours and Awards (H&A) teams primary function is to administer RAF State Awards Meritorious Service Medal and Commendation processes for military and civilian personnel across the New Year and Kings Birthday Honours Lists (NYHL and KBHL) and Operational Honours Lists. Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
Lead administrator and focal point for RAF Long Service and Good Conduct Medal appeal applications; serve as a Board member on the RAF Award Review Panel.
Manage the administration of the half-yearly RAF Meritorious Service Medal Boards.
Provide direct support to SO2 H&A in overseeing RAF State MSM and Commendation award processes within NYHL/KBHL.
Identify notifying authorities and manage the production and publication of NYHL/KBHL and Operational award notification lists.
Compile Command Routine Orders detailing award recipients.
Oversee H&A quality assurance conducting analysis and verification checks on documentation.
Support the H&A team in producing Valedictory Certificates and administering other activities including Royal Garden Party and RAF trophy and prize competitions.
Manage Parliamentary Questions and Freedom of Information requests as required.
Prepare and deliver H&A briefings and presentations.
Function as Unit Security Officer (USyO) for H&A hard-copy SECRET material holdings.
