Your new role

The role of Wind Analyst will see you undertake analysis provide analysis advisory and take on responsibility for the technical quality accuracy and commercial output of our growing Site and Yield team. Additionally you will have the opportunity to contribute to our industry-leading research and development projects. 

 

You will be working in a dynamic and ambitious team where many team members have more than 10 years of wind analysis experience and have previously worked at leading consultancies developers and operators. We are also growing and fully committed to recruiting and developing the wind analysts of the future. Close collaborative links between the Site and Yield team and our Technical Advisory and Development support teams enable Ramboll to provide a wide range of high-quality services by combining multiple specialist skills to assist clients in the successful development financing delivery and operation of renewable energy projects. 

 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Undertaking wind energy yield analysis from early stage through to financial grade.
  • Providing a range of technical advisory services related to energy yield analysis such as due diligence of 3rd party energy yield assessment reports and advising on wind measurement campaigns. 
  • Ensuring high-quality technical deliverables to our clients for onshore and offshore wind farm projects globally.
  • Assist in the development of analysis methods tools and products suitable for current and future renewable energy projects and contributing to our global R&D strategy.
  • Supporting the management of the Site and Yield team including the technical development and mentoring of peers and junior staff.
  • Commercial sales and technical work supporting our clients throughout the development financing and operation of their projects and contributing to the work of the wider Ramboll Wind teams.

 

About you

  • Relevant experience in financial-grade wind energy yield assessment
  • Relevant experience in technical project management
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Confidence in providing technical advisory related to wind analysis to a range of technical and non-technical clients
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse and international team
  • Enthusiasm to support the development of staff across the team.

If you also have experience of business development in the renewables industry proficiency in project and time management advanced computing skills programming know-how energy yield assessment for solar projects BESS analysis or a background in fluid dynamics youll definitely have an edge.

Wind analysis is an evolving science and our aim is to be the best wind analysis team in the industry; to deliver the highest quality work and maximise our contribution to project value and the development and operation of better renewable energy projects.

The Site and Yield team currently contains over 30 individuals based in Germany UK Sweden Taiwan UK and USA with major hubs in Glasgow and Bristol in the UK and Kassel and Hannover in Germany.  The three analysis sub-teams (Pre-construction wind Operational wind and Solar) cooperate closely with some team members working across several disciplines. We are a growing team committed to developing the wind and solar analysts of the future.

We focus heavily on constant refinement of our methods through R&D. This fosters a dynamic and forward-thinking working environment and we develop many methods and tools inhouse including our high-resolution CFD modelling and data analysis software. Our industry-leading WTG performance methods and offshore energy yield validation differentiate us from our competitors and give us strong confidence in our methods.
