Wheat Crop Scientist
Job Summary
Salary:
32.80 41.03 per hour PAYE
Wheat Crop Scientist Role:
- Manage and grow collaborative projects focused on making wheat flour supply more sustainable.
- Assess research proposals and new technologies from external organisations to see how well they support the companys sustainability goals.
- Work closely with internal biscuit category teams to make sure R&D activity aligns with their sourcing quality and environmental requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with supply chain partners including farmers millers and procurement teams.
- Analyse biological data and produce clear well-evidenced conclusions from research findings.
- Degree in plant sciences plus at least eight years experience in plant breeding or agronomy or a PhD in a relevant field with five or more years experience.
- Strong knowledge of plant breeding and agronomy ideally in wheat or other cereal crops.
- Proven experience managing projects that bring together both external R&D partners and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to understand and translate complex supply chain requirements across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Fluent in English; French would be a bonus.
