The school is looking for a caring and highly organised Welfare Officer to join its pupil support team.
The Welfare Officer will provide day-to-day welfare support to pupils and contribute to the schools wider pastoral provision.
Responsibilities will include:
Responding to pupil welfare concerns.
Providing first-aid support where appropriately qualified.
Supporting pupils who become unwell during the school day.
Maintaining accurate medical and welfare records.
Contacting parents and carers when required.
Supporting the administration of medication in accordance with school procedures.
Maintaining appropriate medical documentation.
Monitoring pupil wellbeing.
Supporting pupils with ongoing welfare arrangements.
Liaising with parents regarding welfare matters.
Supporting attendance-related welfare concerns.
Maintaining welfare supplies.
Contributing to health and safety procedures.
Sharing appropriate information with relevant staff.
Escalating concerns appropriately.
Maintaining confidentiality.
Supporting wider pastoral initiatives.
The Welfare Officer will be an important point of contact for pupils who need support during the school day.
The successful candidate should be calm reassuring and professional while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
You will need to understand when a routine welfare issue can be managed within school procedures and when additional support or escalation may be required.
Where appropriately trained and authorised the successful candidate may support the administration and monitoring of medication.
This will require:
