Metal & Stainless Steel Welder Fabricator
Location:Weymouth
Salary: 17- 19 per hour
Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week (average 48 hours per week)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Metal & Stainless Steel Welder Fabricator to join our team supporting projects within the water industry. You will be working alongside mechanical and civil engineering teams to fabricate and assemble high-quality components used in water infrastructure and treatment systems.
Working Hours & Overtime
Standard working hours: 07:00 16:00 with a 1-hour unpaid break
Weekday hours are paid at the standard hourly rate Overtime is typically available to meet project demands
Weekend shifts are paid at time and a half (28.50 per hour)
Key Responsibilities
Fabricate and weld mild steel and stainless steel components to engineering drawings and specifications
Perform MIG and TIG welding to a high standard
Read and interpret technical drawings plans and blueprints
Assemble fabricated parts for installation in water industry projects
Ensure all work meets quality safety and industry standards
Carry out inspections and basic quality checks on completed work
Collaborate with mechanical and civil engineers to meet project requirements
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
Proven experience as a welder fabricator particularly with stainless steel
Strong MIG and TIG welding skills
Ability to read and work from technical drawings
Experience working on infrastructure water industry or similar engineering projects (preferred)
Good understanding of health & safety regulations
Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable Skills
Previous experience in the water or utilities sector
Welding certifications (e.g. coded welding)
Experience with site installation work
