Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Operational Performance & Productivity
Lead the day-to-day running of warehouse activities to meet operational targets.
Monitor workflow allocate tasks and adjust priorities to maintain optimal productivity.
Ensure all processes SOPs and work instructions are consistently followed.
Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and accuracy.
Support planning teams with labour allocation resource forecasting and shift readiness.
Safety Compliance & Professional Standards
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture ensuring all team members follow H&S policies.
Conduct regular safety checks escalate hazards and support incident investigations.
Ensure compliance with company policies quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Act as a visible role model for professionalism integrity and safe working behaviours.
People Leadership & Team Development
Provide clear direction coaching and support to team members throughout the shift.
Conduct performance reviews manage attendance and address performance concerns promptly.
Build a positive team culture that encourages collaboration accountability and respect.
Support onboarding and training of new employees to ensure capability and confidence.
Recognise good performance and encourage continuous skill development.
Continuous Improvement & Change Management
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency quality and safety.
Encourage team involvement in problem-solving and idea generation.
Support the rollout of new processes systems and equipment ensuring smooth adoption.
Use data and KPIs to identify trends and drive targeted improvement actions.
Communication & Collaboration
Communicate shift plans priorities and expectations clearly and confidently.
Provide regular updates to supervisors/managers on performance issues and progress.
Facilitate effective handovers between shifts to maintain operational continuity.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Inventory Transport Health & Safety) to resolve issues quickly.
Time Management & Organisation
Plan and organise daily tasks to ensure deadlines and service levels are met.
Maintain accurate records reports and documentation as required.
Balance short-term operational demands with long-term improvement goals.
