The Vice President Information Technology EMEA is the senior technology business leader accountable for the execution performance and compliance of technology across the EMEA Continent. As a key strategic partner to the EMEA Continent Leadership Team this role ensures technology capabilities services and programs are consistently deployed and operated across all brands supporting continent business objectives and enterprise strategy alignment.

The VP owns strategic and operational leadership of field based property technology: performance reliability security and compliance across property technology environments. The role leads continent technology resources supporting hotels interfaces with Global Technology and enterprise stakeholders represents the continent in global technology governance and serves as executive sponsor for owner and franchise technology engagement. The role also partners closely with the VP Global Hotel Onboarding and Deployments providing oversight of local resources on that team to deliver predictable high quality deployments with minimal disruption to hotel operations.

The VP is the primary technology point of contact for EMEA leadership property teams owners and franchisees representing the continent in global governance forums and sponsoring owner and franchise partner engagement.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Technology Leadership

  • Serve as the primary technology advisor and business partner to the EMEA Continent Leadership Team ensuring technology strategy and execution support operational priorities brand standards guest experience and financial performance.
  • Provide strategic guidance on optimizing existing and emerging property technologies infrastructure and support models leveraging global technology capabilities to drive growth efficiency scalability resilience and value creation.
  • Partner with Global Technology leaders to influence enterprise roadmaps solution design and deployment approaches for continent needs.
  • Act as single point of contact on technology related needs across disciplines and stakeholders: discipline and market leaders hotel teams owners franchise partners.
  • Translate business priorities into coordinated technology demand and action plans for the continent coordinating execution through global capability leaders and continent/property teams.

Property Technology Operations and Execution

  • Provide executive oversight of all field based property technology activity across EMEA ensuring consistent high quality delivery across managed and franchised properties.
  • Ensure effective management support and operation of property based technologies in alignment with business requirements SLAs and MI technology standards.
  • Apply ITIL/ITSM discipline (Incident Major Incident Request Problem Change) to drive operational excellence at scale.
  • Drive continuous improvement of property technology operations to improve stability adoption and operational efficiency while minimizing hotel disruption.
  • Provide oversight of the local onboarding and deployments team ensuring new hotels conversions renovations and major technology transformations are delivered with speed consistency quality security and operational readiness.
  • Ensure high performance of on site and remote support models and operational technology environments.
  • Lead the evolution of the support model as part of the IT modernization roadmap developing new capabilities and upskilling teams.

Compliance Risk and Security Leadership

  • Lead all aspects of property technology compliance with MI policies including information security standards hardware/software standards and technology risk requirements.
  • Partner closely with Global Information Security Legal and Audit to ensure adherence to security controls regulatory obligations and risk mitigation practices across the continent.

Financial and Vendor Management

  • Lead and develop continent technology teams responsible for property operations performance and field execution across all brands.
  • Lead planning and management of EMEA technology operating budgets including OpEx and CapEx investments supporting property technology.
  • Build and defend business cases for technology investments that improve service quality reduce risk and optimize cost efficiency.
  • Provide executive sponsorship and oversight for vendor and managed service provider relationships supporting property technology services with direct accountability for vendor performance and value realization.
  • Drive sourcing strategies that balance global consistency with EMEA specific effectiveness.

Owner and Franchise Engagement

  • Function as the primary technology interface for franchisees and ownership groups. Serve as executive leader and sponsor of the Owner Franchise Technology Council.
  • Balance enterprise technology standards with owner and franchise considerations driving solutions that optimize compliance while supporting owner success.
  • Communicate available services innovations and technology value propositions. Help commercialize and scale technology services globally.

Global Capability Partnership

  • Coordinate with global capability leaders (Service Management Onboarding Strategy and Portfolio Technology Operations) to ensure end to end delivery in the continent escalating to capability owners when delivery gaps exist.
  • Hold EMEA teams accountable for service performance ensuring SLAs and experience meet continent expectations. Identify escalate and resolve gaps.
  • Act as translator between EMEA business needs and technology capabilities identifying opportunities and solutions (AI automation digital tools) that create stakeholder value.
  • Lead through influence maintaining strong relationships with global capability leaders and alignment across disciplines.

Talent Management

  • Continuously improve continent program team and job structures. Ensure clear leadership accountabilities.
  • Hire develop and retain diverse talent. Anticipate future talent needs.
  • Hold leaders accountable for building teams with the right mix of talent and skills. Support direct reports growth and development plans.
  • Facilitate regular communication within the discipline continent and broader enterprise.
  • Set goals and expectations for direct reports. Hold staff accountable for performance commitments.

Candidate Profile

Preferred Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Information Systems Computer Science Engineering Business or equivalent experience required.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or Masters in Technology or Business related field) preferred

Required Qualifications

  • 12 years of progressive leadership experience in technology operations property/hotel technology or enterprise service delivery within a large complex organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading field based or distributed technology operations at scale preferably in hospitality retail travel or multi site environments.
  • Experience supporting franchised operating models and owner facing technology governance.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL/ITSM practices (Incident Major Incident Request Problem Change).
  • Proven ability to operate at an executive level partnering with senior business leaders and influencing across matrixed organizations.
  • Strong stakeholder management across business leaders and global technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of property technology platforms cybersecurity and large scale technology transformations.
  • Proven ability to drive outcomes without direct control in complex transformation environments.
