UX Researcher, Search & Conversational Shopping

A day in the life
As a UX Researcher youll start your morning reviewing research findings from recent usability studies and preparing insights for an upcoming stakeholder presentation. Youll collaborate closely with product managers and designers to align on research priorities.

Mid-morning youll facilitate a remote usability testing session with customers observing how they interact with a new feature prototype. Youll take detailed notes identify pain points and capture moments of delight that will inform design iterations.

In the afternoon reviewing their research plan and providing guidance on methodology selection.

Throughout the day youll write up how your insights drive customer-obsessed product decisions.


About the team
Our UX Research team leads research for Alexa for shopping experiences globally spanning shopping AI Assistant and Alexa devices. We conduct best-in-class qualitative and quantitative research to understand how customers discover and purchase products through voice and conversational interfaces.

We operate as a close-knit team where collaboration and transparency drive our work. We share insights broadly and keep stakeholders informed throughout the research process enabling faster more informed decisions that improve customer experiences.

Our research directly influences product strategy and shapes how millions of customers shop with Alexa worldwide making voice commerce more intuitive and delightful.

- Bachelors degree in HCDE Human Factors Cognitive Psychology or a related field
- Experience in leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact
- Experience (end to end) with all aspects of research (study design recruiting moderation analysis reporting)
- Experience with lab-based user testing remote testing iterative prototype testing survey design and usage of multiple methods within a study
- Have a portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g. study plans reports personas)

- Masters degree in Human Factors HCDE or Cognitive Psychology
- Knowledge of quantitative data analysis and statistics
- Experience conducting and applying research in a global context
- Experience working in a highly Agile/Scrum environment
