Job Overview

Working directly alongside the Head of Faculty you will take ownership of day-to-day studio logistics specialized material preparation kiln firing schedules equipment maintenance and health and safety compliance across our dedicated art and sculpture spaces. This role blends artistic craftsmanship with organizational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Kiln & Ceramics Management: Safely load program fire and unload pottery kilns manage clay reclamation processes and maintain ceramic tools and glazes.

• Studio & Media Preparation: Cut canvas boards set up printing presses prepare plaster and carving blocks and organize specialized fine art and textile media.

• Health & Safety Governance: Oversee strict COSHH protocols regarding dust extraction toxic pigments solvents and kiln safety to ensure a hazard-free studio.

• Stock Control & Ordering: Track inventory levels for art supplies manage vendor orders and keep storage spaces and prep rooms meticulously arranged.

• Exhibition Curating: Mount frame and hang student artwork to transform academy corridors and help organize high-profile GCSE and A-Level end-of-year exhibitions.

• Technical Class Support: Assist teachers during practical workshops by setting up messy or complex media demonstrating equipment use and guiding student makers.
