Banstead Infant School and Nursery is a three-form entry infant school and nursery catering for 2to 7 year olds with just under 270children on role. We are a very well-resourced school having the benefit of beautiful grounds a sensory garden a forest school access to the junior school field a library and a range of modern computingequipment.
We have wonderful children who love their learning who are well-behaved and caring. We have a strong shared vision andare passionate about education with afirm understanding of the needs of our own children and how they learn best. In the recent Ofsted inspection the inspector praised children for the kindness they show to one another commenting that they behave exceptionally well throughout the school. Well-established routines and high expectations ensure that pupils feel safe comfortable and well cared for was also recognised. Inspectors found academic strength noting that Pupils achieve well in a range of 2023 they achieved exceptionally well in reading and addition Banstead Infant Schools new and highly ambitious curriculum was observed and demonstrated that it has been carefully designed to reflect current research about how pupils learn well. It is well sequenced and builds on the schools previous effective curriculum with an increased focus on deepening pupils learning. (Ofsted 2024)

GLF teacher training offers locally delivered teacher training in Surrey and Oxford/Reading through a range of routes from fee-funded pathways to employment-based routes for those with teaching experience and an employing school.

About the Role:
We are excited to offer aspiring teachers a fantastic opportunity to join GLFs Trainee Teacher Programme. As part of our GLF Surrey Teacher Training Hub based in Banstead youll receive exceptional training support and a choice of training routes from our employment-based routes to our fee-funded routes where you could pay trainee fees through a student loan or potentially receive a tax-free training bursary.

Qualifications and Eligibility
To be eligible for this teacher training route you will have the following qualifications:
- A degree awarded by a UK higher education provider or recognised equivalent qualification. (For Secondary courses at least 50% of your degree will be in the subject you wish to teach.)
- A Degree 2:2 or above (may accept a 3rd class or ordinary degree in particular circumstances)
- Grade C/4 or above in English Maths and Science for Primary routes only
- Demonstrate you hold the right to work and study in the UK and have been a resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years.
- For employment-based training routes classroom teaching experience will be required as you will be teaching from day one of the course and you will need a school to offer an employment contract.
- If you have overseas qualifications but the right to work in the UK we will need a statement of comparability for your qualifications. Funding/Salary
GLF also offer fee-funded full and flexible training routes but you can apply for:
- Tuition fee loans to cover all your course fees. Further information HERE
- Maintenance loans of up to 14135 to help with living costs- Further information HERE
- Some secondary subject also comes with a tax-free bursary paid by the Department for Education directly to the candidate to offset the cost of training- Further information HERE
- GLF also offers an unqualified teacher salary for employment routes and for an apprenticeship fully paid training fees to candidates with at least one year of teaching experience who have successfully applied for our postgraduate teacher apprenticeship or salaried routes and have a school willing to offer them a post.
