London Building Control in partnership with Bureau Veritas is seeking an ambitious Graduate / Trainee Registered Building Inspector to join our growing team in Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity to begin a career in Building Control through a structured development programme receiving mentoring from experienced Registered Building Inspectors while working towards professional registration with the Building Safety Regulator.

About the Role
Working alongside experienced professionals you will develop the technical knowledge and practical skills required to become a Registered Building Inspector.
You will gain exposure to a wide range of construction projects while learning how to interpret Building Regulations assess compliance and support clients throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Building Regulations plan assessments
- Attend site inspections alongside qualified Registered Building Inspectors
- Develop knowledge of Building Regulations and Approved Documents
- Support the preparation of statutory documentation
- Record inspection findings and assist in producing reports
- Liaise with architects contractors developers and clients
- Participate in technical training and development programmes
- Develop knowledge of the Building Safety Act and RBI competency requirements
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation
- Support the delivery of a high-quality Building Control service
About You
Were seeking technically minded individuals who enjoy problem-solving are keen to learn and are looking to develop a long-term career within the construction industry.
To apply you will need one of the following:
- A minimum of 3 A-Levels at Grade C or above (or equivalent 80 UCAS points)
- A Level 3 NVQ qualification in Construction or a related discipline
- Demonstrable experience in a relevant field such as:
- Construction
- Building Services
- Fire Safety
- Engineering
- Armed Forces/Ex-Military
- Other technical or compliance-based environments
Essential Skills
- A genuine interest in Building Control and the built environment
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good attention to detail
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Ability to learn and apply technical legislation and guidance
- Full UK driving licence
