Trainee Production Operative
Altera Recruitment Group is partnering with a specialist business operating from a lower-tier COMAH facility producing highly bespoke and technical products for speciality markets.
The business supplies into demanding sectors including Automotive Aerospace and Motorsport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career within a technical production environment working as part of an experienced team and developing practical knowledge of plant equipment and blending operations.
Reporting to the Production Team Leader the Trainee Production Operative will support the daily plan and ensure production activities are completed safely accurately and efficiently while maintaining the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities of the Trainee Production Operative
- Undertake tanker receipt and despatch blending product movement and decant operations safely and accurately.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping waste handling stock rotation and equipment care.
- Work closely with the Production Team Leader to deliver daily and weekly blending plans communicating progress and responding to operational issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and support the smooth running of the site.
- Assist with scheduled and ad hoc site activities including appointed ERP and fire marshal responsibilities.
Candidate Requirements
- Good literacy and numeracy skills with the ability to understand and follow written work instructions.
- An aptitude for translating written operational instructions into practical work involving plant and equipment.
- A positive and practical approach to problem solving particularly when dealing with operational or plant issues.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure demonstrate enthusiasm and perseverance and contribute positively to a team environment.
- Physical robustness and flexibility to work the required shift pattern.
