About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to train over 2 years to become a Housing Enforcement Officer whilst playing a key role in taking legal action under the new Renters Rights Act 2025. This will initially involve taking legal action in relation to illegal eviction and harassment cases based upon accurate and legally robust information and appropriate delegated authority. The successful officer will work flexibly to changes in priorities which may involve being employed in any area of work related to Housing Regulatory Services. This work will be completed in tandem with training and completion of work to ensure that you obtain the skills necessary to be a fully competent housing enforcement professional. This role isnt just a job but an opportunity to start a new and exciting career.
About you
This may be the opportunity for you if you have a desire and commitment to develop technical knowledge and understanding in relation to the role of Housing Enforcement officer. To meet the minimum requirements for this trainee role you will have a minimum 5 years experience in a relevant field (Police law enforcement Fire Service Building Control Planning Trading Standards or technical housing trades Housing Services). In addition you will have a minimum of two years experience working in a customer facing role. You will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and be able communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with a wide range of contacts and to deal with difficult or complex issues. If you are not comfortable working in a sometimes confrontational and challenging environment delivering difficult messages this may not be the job for you but if you want a career that is rewarding interesting and varied that is definitely a role in housing enforcement.
