They are offering an excellent opportunity for a trainee lab-based calibration engineer to join their team and develop into a fully trained multi-skilled calibration engineer.
This is a structured development role designed to take someone with the right attitude and train them into a confident technically capable engineer with long-term career prospects.
The Role
You will begin by supporting experienced engineers in our laboratory learning the fundamentals of calibration and gradually building your skills across multiple disciplines.
Over time you will be trained to carry out calibration independently across a range of equipment including:
As your training progresses youll take on increasing responsibility working towards becoming a fully competent calibration engineer within a UKAS-accredited environment.
AML engineer using a handheld digital thermometer to verify temperature readings on a yellow portable temperature calibration unit.

Requirements
What Theyre Looking For
Theyre looking for someone with the right mindset and willingness to learn:
- Strong interest in engineering science or technical work
- Practical hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail
- Eagerness to learn and develop new skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Excellent IT skills (full system training provided)
- Full UK driving licence preferred (due to location)
- Ideally with a level 3 qualification in engineering or another technical subject e.g. A level maths or physics
No prior calibration experience is required full training is provided.

Required Skills:
What Theyre Looking For: Essential Skills & Experience Previous experience in accounts payable purchasing administration or a similar office administration role. Good working knowledge of accounting and ERP systems. Strong Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office skills. Excellent organisational and time-management abilities. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication skills with confidence when dealing with suppliers and colleagues. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team. Understanding of basic accounting principles. Desirable: Experience working within an engineering manufacturing or project-based environment. Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or ISO 14001 management systems. Experience supporting project administration or service scheduling activities.
