Temporary Sales Assistant

We are seeking a temporary Sales Assistant to join our Sports Direct store in Stevenage United Kingdom. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic retail environment delivering outstanding customer service whilst supporting the sales team. As a Sales Assistant you will play a key role in ensuring our customers have an engaging shopping experience whilst maintaining high standards of store presentation and stock management.

• Provide friendly and professional customer service assisting customers with product selection and enquiries Process customer transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system including cash handling and card payments
• Maintain store appearance by restocking shelves arranging displays and ensuring merchandise is presented to the highest standard Develop product knowledge across our sports and leisure range to make informed recommendations to customers Support the sales team in achieving store targets through proactive customer engagement and upselling Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies to management
• Adhere to company policies and procedures including health and safety regulations Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth store operations during busy periods Assist with store opening and closing procedures as required Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times

Qualifications :

**Required:** Proven customer service experience in a retail or hospitality environment

• Strong communication and people skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse customers Reliable time keeping and commitment to scheduled shifts Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced busy retail environment Basic numeracy skills for cash handling and till operation Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures

**Desirable:** Previous experience working in a sports retail or similar retail setting Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and retail technology Experience in stock management or merchandising Flexibility to work varied hours including weekends and peak trading periods Enthusiasm for sports and leisure products
