Temporary Accommodation Housing Officer
Job Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Waltham Forest to assist with the appointment of a Temporary Accommodation Housing Officer on a 12-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 16.77 - 21.94 per hour
Summary:
The Temporary Accommodation Housing Officeris responsible for maintaining safe compliant and well-managed properties supporting residents resolving tenancy and property-related issues and working collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure residents receive the support they need while preparing for permanent accommodation.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver day-to-day housing management services across temporary accommodation including licence and tenancy management.
- Act as the first point of contact for residents resolving enquiries and providing excellent customer service.
- Conduct property inspections to assess condition safety compliance and required repairs.
- Investigate complaints relating to repairs damp and mould anti-social behaviour and tenancy/licence breaches.
- Coordinate repairs and maintenance with contractors and monitor works through to completion.
- Identify and investigate tenancy and licence fraud referring cases where appropriate.
Qualification:
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
Essentials:
- Experience delivering frontline housing management services ideally within temporary accommodation or social housing.
- Good understanding of housing and homelessness legislation including the Housing Act 1996 (Part VII).
- Knowledge of tenancy and licence management housing management principles and enforcement processes.
- Understanding of property standards including HHSRS damp and mould repairs and health and safety requirements.
- Experience carrying out property inspections and identifying defects or compliance issues.
