Job Summary

Technical Support Electronics Specialist


We are looking to recruit a Technical Support Electronics Specialist toundertake full Duty Technician responsibilities including the daily operation of the exhibition and responding to technical issues while acting as the lead specialist for electronics (systems faults and projects) across the organisation. They will also use the resources and technology available to ensure the highest standard of technical support across the National Space Centre.

The successful candidate will have a strong practical knowledge of electronics systemscomponents and fault-finding the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure and excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Salary: 30520 per annum


Hours

35 hours per week rota to include irregular evening and weekend work. Time off in lieu for any overtime where possible. You will be required to be flexible according to the needs of the business

Job Title

Technical Support Electronics Specialist


Reports to

Head of IT & Technical Services


Overall Purpose

Using the resources and technology available ensure the highest standard of technical support across the National Space Centre.

To undertake full Duty Technician responsibilities including the daily operation of the exhibition and responding to technical issues while acting as the lead specialist for electronics(systems faults and projects)across the organisation.


Main Tasks:

Duty Technician Responsibilities

  • Undertake Duty Technician duties as working on a roster system including weekends and evenings.
  • Be responsible forall technical aspects of the building and the smooth running of the National Space Centre including fire evacuation and lift rescue procedures.
  • Start up and shut down the exhibition daily and respond to technical faults as first-line support.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the quality and operation of exhibition systems (IT AVelectronicsand infrastructure) with support from the wider team.
  • Undertake and record regular technical checks as.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of all technical systems and respond to issues safely and effectively.


Electronics Specialist Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead specialist for all electronics-related systems within the National Space Centre.
  • Diagnoserepairandmaintainelectronic components across exhibition interactives controlsystemsand infrastructure.
  • Lead on fault-finding and resolution of complex electronic issues beyond first-line support.
  • Take ownership of electronics-focused maintenance schedules and improvements.
  • Support and deliver electronics elements of technical projectsupgradesand installations.
  • Specifytestand implement replacement components or system improvements where.
  • Maintain documentation and schematics relating to electronics systems and ensure they are kept up to date.


Events and Operational Support

  • Provide technical support for corporate and public events including liaison with clients and internal teams setupoperationand breakdown.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Strong practical knowledge of electronics systemscomponentsand fault-finding.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Awareness of electrical safety and safe working practices.
  • Flexible approach to working hours and duties.


Desirable

  • Experience working with exhibition or interactive systems.
  • Experience of microcontrollers embeddedsystemsor control hardware.
  • Experience supporting live events or visitor attractions.
  • Basic mechanical skills including the ability to undertake minor repairs adjustments and fabrication where.
  • Experience working with mechanical components within interactive exhibits or technical installations.
  • Relevant qualifications in electronics electricalengineeringor similar discipline.
