Job Summary
- Job Title: Technical Specialist

- Location: Ellesmere Port - onsite
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm
- Salary: from 25000 pa DOE
- Industry: Oil Conditioning Monitoring
Main Duties
- Ensuring all samples received are diagnosed and are issued within turnaround times according to business and customer requirements
- Perform investigational analysis including the planning and execution of out-of-scope operations analysis and generation of bespoke reporting in accordance with business and customer requirements.
- Provide technical assistance to team leaders or other appropriate colleagues to maintain service levels and ensure efficient laboratory operations.
- Liaise with customers to keep them informed of analytical test issues such as delays etc. to ensure customer satisfaction and confidence is maintained this will include sporadic face to face site visits
- Maintain instrument up time assisting stakeholders in solving analytical instrument issues i.e. ICP Viscosity and FTIR.
Qualifications :
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has:
- Experience in a used oil laboratory environment or experience in a lubricant industry technical role
- Experience of Failure mode and effects analysis and undertaking Route Cause analysis
- Experience of wet chemistry analysis
- Experience in being an advance M package user - specifically Excel
Essential Qualifications
- Mechanical Engineering / Chemistry Qualification (C&G / HNC / HND)
- Time served experience with interpretation of FTIR GC-MS ICP data
