Technical Director Head of Landscape Planning (UK WIDE)
Job Summary
AECOM is seekingĀ a Head of Landscape PlanningĀ to support the growth of our Landscape Architecture team. As part of one of the UK&Is largest and most diverse landscape practices you will undertake high-profile regional and global projects across various sectors including energy transition urban regeneration residential development and airports. About AECOMs Landscape Architecture Team
Our UK&I Landscape Architecture team is renowned forĀ delivery excellence and multidisciplinary collaboration. We work across all design stages blending strengths in design planning and management to create imaginative solutions that enhance communities and environments. Recent projects includeenergy transition (wind solar hydrogen nuclear storage and energy transmission as part of the Great Grid Partnership)Ā infrastructureĀ andĀ new neighbourhoodsthat shape cities and regions.Ā
Job Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development:
- Lead and guide the delivery of Landscape Planning at AECOM.
- Share knowledge and support culture of continuous growth for whole team.
- Mentor and develop staff including acting as a landscape planning expert P2C mentor and line manager.
Client Engagement:
- Develop AECOM profile and represent AECOM Landscape Planning in the industry.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with clients stakeholders and collaborators. Be a trusted partner.
- Seek new work through proactive client engagement and business development.
Technical Excellence:
- Oversee the delivery of all stages of landscape planning projects to achieve consistent high standards.
- Produce and overseeĀ the production ofĀ reports drawings andĀ otherĀ technical documentationĀ with the necessary level of detailĀ usingĀ appropriate software.Ā
- Communicate clearly including the ability to act as expert witness and lead on conference calls meetings and workshops.
- Project management including financial and programme responsibilities.
Collaboration:
- Work iteratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver cohesive and integrated solutions.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
Experience:
- Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) with at least ten years post-Chartership experience.
- Technically recognised as expert in preparing LVIAs and TVIAs and evidence-base documentsĀ in accordance withĀ best practice.Ā
- Experience at Public Inquiry and Examination.Ā
- Thorough knowledge of theĀ UKĀ planning systemĀ relevant toĀ landscape architecture.Ā Ā
- Experience in project management including financial control reporting and programme management.Ā
Technical Skills:
- Proficient inĀ Microsoft Office Suite.Ā
- Competent in use ofĀ AutoCADĀ andĀ Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Skilled in preparing clear graphicsĀ andĀ technical reports.Ā
- Strong communicationĀ skills including fluency inĀ written and spokenĀ English.
Additional Information :
Full UK driving licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or post graduate qualification in Landscape Architecture.
- Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
