Asset Health is an increasingly important priority for infrastructure owners. Ageing assets evolving regulatory expectations affordability pressures and the need for greater operational resilience requireorganisationsto improve how they understand assetcondition criticality reliabilityperformanceand future risk.
AtkinsRéalis is developing an integrated Asset Health capability that brings together engineeringexpertise operational understanding asset management information managementanalyticsand digital innovation. The capability will help clientsestablisha consistent view of current and future asset health understand the consequences of deterioration and failure andidentifythe operational maintenance and investment interventions needed to manage risk and improve performance.
We areseekingan established technical and commercial leader to build and grow this capability across our WaterDefence Energy and Aviation markets.

- As Technical Director Asset Health you willestablishand lead our Asset Health service line within the Infrastructure Asset & Information Management Practice.
- You will set its strategic and technical direction develop a focused portfolio of commerciallyviableservicesandestablishthe methods governance and delivery approachesrequiredto provide consistent high-quality outcomes for clients.
- Working with our practicemarketand account leaders you willidentifyclient priorities shapeopportunitiesand convert demand into secured work. You will provide senior leadership on client engagements majorbidsand strategically important commissions.
- The role extends beyond individual tools analyticalmethodsor Asset Health Indices. You will ensure that our approach provides clients with a defensible line of sight from asset evidence and future risk toprioritisedinterventions and investment decisions. You will connect evidence about asset condition criticalityreliabilityand performance with practical operational maintenance and investment decisions.
- Initially this will be a service linetechnicaland commercial leadership role rather than one involving the management of a largeestablishedteam. You will develop the capability and supporting team as demand and secured work will:
- Own and implement the strategy and roadmap for our Asset Health service line across WaterDefence Energy and Aviation.
- Define a focused portfolio of distinctive and commerciallyviableservices thatrespondsto clients operational maintenance and investment priorities.
- Set the technical direction for our Asset Health capability and lead the development and continuous improvement of its methodsgovernanceand assurance arrangements including approaches to condition criticality deteriorationperformanceand future risk.
- Work with market account and practice leaders to identify shape and convert strategic client opportunities.
- Bring technical authority and commercial judgement to senior client conversations major bids and strategically important commissions.
- Lead complex multidisciplinary assignments as Technical Director Project Director senior adviser or assurance lead.
- Build trusted relationships with senior clients asset ownersoperatorsand industry stakeholders.
- Establish an active Asset Health community and develop the people partnerships and reusable methods needed to support sustainable growth.
You will be an established leader in Asset Health asset management asset performance maintenance reliability infrastructureoperationsor a closely related discipline. You will have:
- Extensive senior-level experience gained within infrastructure consultancy an asset-intensiveorganisationor a closely related environment.
- A strong understanding of Asset Health and its relationship with condition criticality reliability maintenance operational performanceriskand investment planning.
- Experience of establishing leading or materially growing a technical servicepropositionor capability with evidence of resulting client demand secured work or improved market position.
- A successful record of identifyingshapingand converting business development opportunities including major bids or strategic proposals.
- Experience ofdirecting complex multidisciplinary assignments and providing senior technical assurance.
- Strong commercial judgement balancing client outcomes technical quality deliveryriskand financial performance across both work winning and delivery.
- The credibility to build trusted relationships with senior clientsstakeholdersand business leaders.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to turn complex technical evidence into clear decisions and practical recommendations.
- A degree in engineering asset management or a related discipline orequivalentrelevant professional experience isrequired. Chartered status oran equivalentrecognisedprofessional qualification would beadvantageous.

- Werecognisethat strong candidates may bring different combinations of these capabilities. We do not expect one person to be a specialist in every area.
Yourinitialpriorities
- Yourinitialfocus will be to bring together the Asset Healthexpertise toolsmethodsand client credentials that already exist across AtkinsRéalis and develop them into a coherent technicallyrobustand client-facing capability. You willidentifywhere existing approaches can bestandardisedimprovedorsupplementedandestablisha clear technical development roadmap.
- You will define the priority propositionsestablishthe technical and delivery framework shapean initialopportunitypipelineand lead or assure early reference commissions. As demand grows you will develop the practitioner community partnerships and supporting team required to create a scalable and sustainable service.

Security clearance
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
