Job Summary

At Newton Park creativity meets technology in a collaborative environment where students and professionals work together on ambitious broadcast and media projects. Were looking for enthusiastic technical specialists to become part of our dedicated team and play a key role in delivering outstanding production experiences.

Our facilities have recently undergone a major refurbishment of our television studio andproduction spaces providing a modern environment for live multi-camera and broadcast production. Our Pro Tools audio suites are equipped for 7.1.4 immersive audio supporting contemporary sound design mixing and post-production workflows.

About the Role

This role involves delivering engaging hands-on demonstrations in location sound studio audio Pro Tools and audio post-production while providing technical support for live productions practical sessions and assessments. You will work with professional equipment including Sound Devices recorders radio microphones boom microphones timecode systems and 7.1.4 audio suites collaborating closely with students academic staff and the wider technical team.

As a member of the team youll contribute to a culture of innovation support emerging creative talent and help students gain practical experience using current professional production technologies and workflows. About You

  • Strong working knowledge of Pro Tools including editing mixing and post-production workflows.
  • Practical experience using Sound Devices or equivalent professional field recorders including timecode sync and multi-track recording workflows.
  • Strong practical location sound skills including boom operating radio microphones and concealing/hiding lavalier microphones.
  • Experience of live sound and/or broadcast audio including microphones mixing routing and monitoring.
  • Teaching demonstration or technical support experience preferably within higher education or the creative industries.
  • Excellent communication skills a student-focused approach and a willingness to diversify and develop skills across television multi-camera and live production.
  • Experience with professional broadcast audio consoles Dante/networked audio intercom and IFB systems.
  • Knowledge or experience of immersive audio object-based audio and modern broadcast audio workflows.
  • Wider experience of multi-camera television live events or outside broadcast production.
  • Active industry experience and professional networks within audio broadcast or live production.

Additional Information

Salary Grade Ac1 - Starting from 33951 rising to 37694 per annum

The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range unless there are exceptional circumstances.
