Job Summary

Join our team as a Technical Approver - Engineering for Services (EfS) and play a key role in assuring the quality compliance and technical integrity of engineering deliverables within a highly regulated aerospace environment. You will provide independent technical oversight support engineering governance activities and help drive right-first-time delivery across complex programmes.

Location: Derby (UK)
On-site: Hybrid As required by business needs
Seniority: Senior Engineer / Technical Lead
Clearance: Candidates must be willing and eligible to obtain SC clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and approve technical deliverables prior to release.
  • Verify technical data calculations and engineering methodologies.
  • Ensure verification and validation (V&V) activities are completed in line with defined processes.
  • Confirm acceptance criteria and evidence requirements have been satisfied.
  • Identify and escalate technical risks quality concerns and delivery issues.
  • Support technical reviews audits and engineering governance activities.

Qualifications :

Required Skills

  • Experience within aerospace or another highly regulated engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of verification and validation (V&V) principles.
  • Experience reviewing and approving engineering documentation and technical outputs.
  • Knowledge of configuration control engineering governance and quality assurance processes.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Soft Skills & Collaboration

  • Strong engineering judgement and attention to detail.
  • Ability to challenge technical decisions constructively.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proactive approach to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant engineering field or relevant technical military background with equivalent hands-on experience.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience within Engineering for Services (EfS) service engineering or MRO environments.
  • Experience supporting delegated approval or signatory processes.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness and safety-critical engineering activities.
  • Exposure to technical assurance engineering governance or quality management.
  • Professional registration or progress towards Chartered Engineer status.
