Job Summary

Job Description:

Instron are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Team Leader to join our Transducer production team based at our High Wycombe site. As a Team Leader you will play a key role in ensuring a safe and efficient working environment driving operational improvements supporting inventory management activities and helping to develop colleagues within the production team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health Safety & Workplace Organisation - Maintain a safe organised and efficient work area ensuring equipment is used only by trained personnel. Support stock accuracy follow PPE and ESD requirements and uphold high housekeeping and 5S standards.
  • Team Support & Development - Promote productive working practices minimise downtime and support the ongoing development and training of team members.
  • Technical Knowledge & Problem Solving - Assemble test and calibrate products to quality standards using approved procedures and documentation. Provide technical support fault-finding expertise and work closely with Engineering Quality Planning Purchasing and Service teams.
  • Customer & Quality Focus - Help ensure products are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards. Proactively communicate and resolve issues that may impact customer delivery while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and key performance measures.
  • Administration & Compliance - Complete performance management tasks objectives and departmental administration accurately and on time. Follow all health safety and compliance requirements including accident reporting risk assessments COSHH regulations and company procedures.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings.
  • Experience working with electromechanical products and systems.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to influence and support others.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Commitment to quality safety and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work flexibly and undertake a wide range of operational tasks.
  • Physical capability to safely handle and move mechanical equipment and components.

Experience Required

You will ideally have experience in:

  • Assembly and disassembly of mechanical or electromechanical products and machinery.
  • Testing calibration and fault diagnosis of electromechanical equipment.
  • Product repair and technical troubleshooting.

Qualifications

While full training will be provided the following would be advantageous:

  • Level 4 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or Manufacturing.

Equivalent experience will also be considered.
