National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Team Leader Field Operations to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment flora fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

From rugged escarpments to world-class visitor destinations the Blue Mountains offers a unique and challenging operational environmentand were looking for a people-first leader who can bring teams together drive performance and coordinate complex operational programs across a diverse and dynamic environment.

About the role
In this pivotal leadership role youll plan coordinate and deliver major works programs across the Blue Mountains region - ensuring projects are completed safely on time and on budget. From infrastructure upgrades and asset maintenance to fire and incident management youll play a key role in protecting this World Heritage-listed landscape while supporting high-quality visitor experiences.

This is a coordination-heavy leadership rolemore office-based but closely connected to on-ground operationsleading teams and contractors to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

This role is ideal for a practical operational leader who thrives on coordination planning and leading people. Someone who thrives in complexity enjoys problem solving and can pivot quickly as priorities change.

Youll bring:

  • Proven people leadership and culture-building capability (you know how to motivate and get the best out of teams)
  • Solid technical and operational understanding (construction maintenance asset or field-based environments)
  • Experience managing contractors and external service providers
  • Capability (or willingness) to lead incident and fire management operations
  • Ability to manage tight timeframes competing priorities and shifting demands
  • Strong planning coordination and project delivery skills

Essential requirements
Current Senior First Aid Certificate and drivers licence including four-wheel driving certificate.

This is a physically active role suited to candidates of all genders who are fit enjoy working outdoors as part of a team and are eager to learn and develop the skills and qualifications needed to contribute toward improving and maintaining some of NSWs most precious natural places.

Applicants must meet the requirements of a specific medical assessment) which is inclusive of a clearance to undertake the fitness test for firefighting fitness roles (i.e. moderate level Task-Based Assessment for Firefighters) within the 12-month probationary period if relevant.

The role holder must obtain certification at the appropriate level prior to undertaking firefighting/incident control duties.
