Are you passionate about developing future talent We are looking for an experienced Team Lead to lead and enhance our apprenticeship and technician development programmes across UK Offshore Operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the next generation of offshore wind technicians while supporting one of the worlds largest renewable energy operators.

About the role

  • Actively drive and improve our Wind Turbine Technician Apprenticeship Programme to ensure it remains world class and is seen as the exemplar in Offshore Wind.
  • Engage and develop relationships within Offshore Operations to ensure our training meets the demands of this function with best practice shared group-wide.
  • Actively drive the Technician Career Pathway scheme upskilling our technicians to ensure we can meet the demands of the development pipeline.
  • Work with HR to create an annual recruitment plan for apprentices based on business needs project commitments and strategic workforce development plans.
  • Collaborate closely with HR to design and deliver an inclusive recruitment strategy that attracts and selects high-potential talent building a sustainable pipeline of skilled technicians for both existing operations and future site developments.
  • Proactively collaborate with HR to ensure alignment with the wider apprenticeship portfolio so our schemes are recognised as market leading in Offshore and support wider RWE teams by providing information for external materials promoting our apprenticeship and development programmes.
  • Be the lead on Diversity in Operations ensuring a diverse workforce through an appropriate Operational Strategy and action plan fit for a world-class organisation while contributing towards and delivering on annual KPIs goals and targets for the site and wider business.
  • Support projects or teams with external engagement activities such as careers fairs and presentations aimed at future technicians.

Job requirements and experience

  • Foundation Degree Degree DipHE or relevant qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating this level of ability.
  • Good understanding of key issues in developing training programmes including the UK apprenticeships scheme and how to improve it.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise activities work under pressure and co-ordinate input from internal and external partners in a reliable systematic and proactive manner.
  • Strong communicator with the confidence and presence to represent the organisation deliver effective training and build strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels through active listening and clear verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to establish and manage relationships with external training providers resulting in high-quality and timely provision.
  • Accurate and methodical with excellent attention to detail sound judgement and the ability to act with sensitivity and discretion respecting confidentiality at all times.
  • Flexible practical and proactive approach to managing operational training challenges including awareness of barriers to learning (such as special educational needs) and how to address them; able to work independently while also drawing on wider departmental resources.
  • Willingness to travel and work UK-wide including regular site visits; good written and spoken English; good general health and fitness to work in an offshore environment.

An offer of employment in this role may require holding active or ability to pass National Security vetting to SC level. Failure to obtain and or maintain National Security Vetting to SC may result in the removal of job offers and or existing employment.
