Role: Teacher of Religious Education and Ethics (KS3KS4)
Location: Hoddesdon Hertfordshire
Contract: Full-Time Permanent
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale depending on experience
An inclusive academy in Hoddesdon is looking for a thoughtful and enthusiastic RE Teacher to join its humanities department from January 2027. The successful candidate will encourage students to explore religious beliefs ethical questions and different worldviews.
Teach RE and Ethics: Deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and GCSE.
Develop critical thinking: Encourage students to evaluate arguments and explain different perspectives.
Prepare students for examinations: Support revision assessment and examination technique.
Promote respectful debate: Create a classroom where students can discuss sensitive topics appropriately.
Plan inclusive lessons: Use a range of resources to support different learning needs.
Contribute to enrichment: Support assemblies discussion groups and wider humanities activities.
RE specialist: Has strong knowledge of religion philosophy and ethics.
Qualified teacher: Holds QTS or an equivalent qualification.
Excellent facilitator: Can manage classroom discussion confidently and respectfully.
Strong planner: Produces well-structured lessons with clear learning objectives.
Inclusive practitioner: Values diversity and encourages participation.
Reliable team member: Works effectively with colleagues across the school.
Inclusive academy: A school committed to respect progress and personal development.
Supportive humanities team: Work with experienced teachers across RE History and Geography.
