A sixth form college in Newmarket is seeking a History Teacher to support A-Level students on a temporary basis. This role would suit a teacher with strong post-16 experience who can deliver engaging lessons and prepare students for examination success.

• Teach A-Level History: Deliver lessons to sixth form students across relevant examination units.

• Support examination preparation: Develop essay technique source analysis and interpretation skills.

• Provide academic guidance: Help students improve independent study and revision strategies.

• Assess written work: Mark essays and provide detailed constructive feedback.

• Plan effective resources: Use historical sources academic texts and relevant case studies.

• Support student progress: Monitor achievement and provide additional guidance where required.

• Post-16 specialist: Has experience teaching A-Level History.

• Qualified teacher: Holds QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification.

• Strong academic knowledge: Can teach complex historical themes and interpretations.

• Excellent marker: Understands examination criteria and extended writing.

• Independent worker: Can plan lessons and manage responsibilities effectively.

• Supportive mentor: Helps students prepare for university and further study.

• Sixth form setting: A focused environment where students are preparing for further education.

• Academic department: Work alongside experienced History and Politics teachers.
