Job Overview

Computer Science plays a prominent role in this schools academic and technological identity. The successful applicant will deliver engaging Computer Science and IT lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Computer Science / Vocational IT) with potential Key Stage 5 A-Level Computer Science delivery.

Working closely with the Digital Technologies department you will guide pupils through Python programming algorithms data structures network security and computer architecture. This is a full-time ongoing or permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach engaging practical and theoretical Computer Science lessons across Key Stage 3 Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5

• Guide pupils through high-level text-based programming (Python C# or Java) algorithm design and pseudocode

• Prepare GCSE and A-Level pupils for practical coding projects and written exam theory

• Maintain computer laboratory hardware software IDEs and network environments safely and effectively

• Assess track and report on student progress across programming assignments and formal examinations

• Fulfill pastoral duties as a Form Tutor supporting student wellbeing and personal development

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)

• Honors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology or a closely related discipline

• Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong GCSE/A-Level Computer Science outcomes

• Strong programming proficiency in Python and solid knowledge of computer system architecture

• An active enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
