Were looking for a talented Tax Semi-Seniorto join our established tax team in Rochester. We are considering different levels and qualifications and are open to candidates looking for part time hours. A mixed tax role you will be producingadvisory work for a varied portfolio of owner managed businessesand supportingthe Directors of the tax team.

What Youll Be Doing

As our Tax Semi-Senior youll be responsible for:

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax and owner-managed business clients ensuring compliance work is completed accurately and on time
• Preparing and reviewing self assessment tax returns and corporation tax returns for SME clients
• Managing client deadlines and workload priorities to ensure an efficient and high-quality service is delivered
• Liaising with clients HMRC and colleagues across the firm to resolve queries and progress client matters
• Identifying potential tax planning opportunities and technical issues for discussion with senior members of the team
• Assisting with advisory projects across a range of taxes including income tax capital gains tax and corporation tax matters

About you

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• ATT qualified
• 5 years tax and/or accounting experience within an accountancy practice
• Good tax knowledge
• Experience with MS Office particularly Excel Word and Outlook and CCH accountancy software would be advantageous
• Strong organisation skills with a problem-solving attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Motivated team player
