The Opportunity
Were looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our growing Peterborough this role youll manage a diverse portfolio of clients delivering high quality tax compliance and advisory services while building strong trusted relationships. Youll work closely with clients and colleagues across the business providing practical solutions to complex tax matters and helping clients achieve their goals.
As well as managing your own portfolio youll have the opportunity to contribute to the development and growth of the tax team supporting colleagues sharing your expertise and helping to shape the future direction of the department. What Youll Be Doing
As our Tax Manager youll be responsible for:
- Managing a portfolio of self-assessment tax clients taking ownership of client relationships and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality work.
- Supporting clients with tax compliance requirements including Making Tax Digital (MTD) for Income Tax personal tax and trust tax matters.
- Identifying and advising on potential tax planning opportunities and technical issues including capital gains tax residence matters trusts property taxation pension contributions and loss relief.
- Preparing tax provisions deferred tax calculations tax accounting schedules and supporting audit requirements.
- Building strong relationships with clients and collaborating closely with colleagues across the wider business.
- Travelling to other offices as required to support clients and work alongside the wider tax team.
- Managing work in progress monitoring debtors raising fees and contributing to departmental budgeting and financial performance.
- Providing tax support and responding to technical queries from colleagues across other service lines.
- Playing a key role in the growth and development of the tax function including supporting and mentoring team members where appropriate
What Were Looking For
Were keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:
- CTA qualified with at least 4 years experience within an accountancy practice.
- Strong tax compliance background with experience managing a diverse client portfolio.
- Solid technical tax knowledge with the ability to identify and support advisory opportunities.
- Proactive and self-motivated with the confidence to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong communication skills with experience building relationships and liaising directly with clients.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities while working to tight deadlines.
- Advanced Excel skills including experience using VLOOKUPs SUMIFs and Pivot Tables.
- Experience with accounting and tax software such as Xero QuickBooks Sage Dext and CCH would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with a willingness to travel as required.
