Support a Primary School Pupil on a 11 Basis in Wandsworth

Role: 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant

A primary school in Wandsworth is looking for a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant to support a pupil throughout the school day. This is an opportunity for someone patient consistent and enthusiastic about helping children engage with learning and feel supported in the classroom.

Further details regarding the pupils individual needs and the specific requirements of the role are currently being confirmed with the Headteacher.

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil during the school day.

• Helping the pupil access classroom activities and learning opportunities.

• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement.

• Supporting emotional regulation and promoting a calm learning environment.

• Building a positive trusting relationship with the pupil.

• Working closely with the class teacher and wider school team.

• Following individual support strategies and school behaviour policies.

• Helping maintain a safe structured and supportive environment.

Were looking for someone patient approachable and resilient with a genuine interest in supporting primary-aged children.

Previous experience supporting children with behavioural needs emotional regulation or additional learning needs would be beneficial. You should be confident following guidance from teachers and adapting your approach to help a pupil throughout the school day.

Experience in a primary school or a similar child-focused setting is desirable. A current enhanced DBS check will be required in line with safeguarding procedures.
