Job Summary
- This is a 2-3 month contract role with a local authority aimed at providing effective assessment support treatment and intervention services to children young people and young adults affected by substance misuse issues. The postholder will manage a caseload of service users delivering targeted and specialist interventions to reduce harm promote recovery improve wellbeing and support positive outcomes in education employment housing and relationships.
- Manage and coordinate a caseload of young people experiencing substance misuse issues.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments risk assessments care planning and regular reviews.
- Deliver tailored interventions based on individual needs vulnerabilities and treatment goals.
- Maintain accurate timely and confidential case records and reports.
- Significant experience working with children young people or vulnerable adults with complex needs.
- Experience supporting individuals affected by substance misuse and related behavioural issues.
- Experience managing a caseload and delivering one-to-one interventions.
- Recognised qualification in Substance Misuse Youth and Community Work Social Work Health Counselling Psychology or a related field.
- Educated to Degree level or equivalent professional experience.
- Relevant professional certification or training at NVQ Level 4 or above or equivalent.
- Working hours: 36 hours per week.
- 10.00 am 4.00 pm Monday to Friday.
- Evening and weekend work and flexible working is required.
- We work on a bi-weekly schedule.

The substance misuse worker will provide effective support targeted and specialist interventions (covering tiers 2 and 3) to a caseload of clients and be an integral part of an accessible integrated and flexible service that targets the needs of all young people aged 8 up to 25 years old in Hackney including those in contact with the criminal justice system
