Sunrise Academy areseekinga proactive and approachable Student Liaison Officer to join Eastern Education this key role you will engage positively with students to promote a safe inclusive and respectful learning environment for all learners including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You willbe responsible forfostering positive behaviour supporting student wellbeing and responding calmly and effectively to any issues that arise on campus at bus stops or during break and lunchtimes whiledemonstratingan understanding of theadditionalsupport needs some students mayrequire.
You will use de-escalation restorative and negotiation techniques to manage conflicts and support students in regulating their behaviour and emotions. You willmonitoraccess to the site and work closely with staff families external agencies local businesses and the Police Community Support Officer to build strong relationships and a supportive environment particularly for vulnerable and SEND students. You will also produceaccuratereports to record incidentsmonitorwellbeing concerns and support effective decision-making and safeguarding processes.
You will bring excellent communication and relationship-building skills a strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice and good report-writing abilities along with experience of working with young people in mainstream and/or SEND settings. Ideally you will have experience in the police force or armed forces or other careers that require high levels of personal decision making and negotiation skills. Educated to Level 3 you will be flexible patient and able to use your initiative while working within Eastern Education Group policies and procedures.
