Structural Engineer

Hemel Hempstead Hybrid Working

Im currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing multidisciplinary engineering consultancy seeking a Structural Engineer with 2 years consultancy experience to join its Hemel Hempstead office.

Working across both private and public sector projects the consultancy delivers a diverse portfolio ranging from bespoke homes to major regeneration schemes new housing developments and commercial projects.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer you will be involved in the design and analysis of a variety of building structures working closely with clients architects and other consultants throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structural design and analysis of buildings and structural elements.
  • Preparing structural calculations reports and sketches.
  • Reviewing and checking technical drawings.
  • Coordinating with clients architects and other consultants.
  • Managing your own workload and delivering projects to agreed timescales.
  • Contributing to technical standards and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering; JBM-accredited preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience within a structural engineering consultancy.
  • Good working knowledge of UK design standards and Eurocodes.
  • Strong technical communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience working with volume housebuilders would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Working towards Chartership with the ICE or IStructE would be advantageous.
