Rate: 24.91/HR Umbrella

Summary

  • This is a 6-month contract role with a local authority offering a rate of 24.91 per hour under an umbrella arrangement. The primary objective of this position is to facilitate the coordination oversight and enforcement of streetworks activities across the highway network. The role is crucial in ensuring adherence to the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) Traffic Management Act (TMA) and related regulations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in minimizing disruptions for road users maintaining precise statutory records overseeing utility works managing defects and aiding the Council in fulfilling its network management and highway authority responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage streetworks and highway activities in line with NRSWA TMA and associated legislation.
  • Offer technical advice and guidance on streetworks licenses permits notices and statutory obligations.
  • Oversee utility company and contractor compliance with permit conditions and legal requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and administration of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs) for utility and highway projects.
  • Aid in resolving disputes related to streetworks activities and statutory compliance.
  • Monitor and manage Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) defect charges Section 74 overrun charges and lane rental schemes.

Requirements

  • Experience in Streetworks Highways Transportation Utilities Civil Engineering or Network Management environments.
  • Proficiency in handling streetworks permits notices licenses or compliance activities.
  • Competence in maintaining databases and records management systems.
  • Ability to produce reports and analyze operational information.
  • Experience in liaising with utility companies contractors and external stakeholders.
  • Skill in managing customer inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
  • Experience working within a regulated environment with legislative requirements.
Essential Qualifications Required

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant qualification in Highways Transportation Civil Engineering Infrastructure Management or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (desirable).
