Spanish Teacher – Secondary School, Herefordshire

A welcoming secondary school in Herefordshire is looking for a motivated Spanish Teacher to join its Languages department from September. This full-time role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys bringing language learning to life through culture conversation and creativity.

About the Role You will teach Spanish primarily across KS3 and KS4 with the possibility of contributing to KS5 provision depending on experience and student numbers. Lessons focus on building practical communication skills alongside grammatical accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Spanish across KS3 and KS4 (with potential KS5 involvement)

• Prepare students for GCSE Spanish examinations

• Plan lessons that build confidence in speaking and listening

• Embed cultural context to enrich language learning

• Mark and assess work in line with departmental policy

• Support open evenings and transition events for prospective students

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Fluency in Spanish and confidence teaching across KS3 and KS4

• Experience teaching Spanish at secondary level

• Good classroom management skills

Desirable

• Experience teaching A-Level Spanish

• Ability to teach a second language (e.g. French)

• Experience with digital language-learning platforms
