An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Sous Chef to join the brigade at one of Stratford-upon-Avons most highly regarded independent restaurants.

Set within a beautifully restored Grade II listed building in the heart of the town this celebrated destination restaurant has built an outstanding reputation for modern British cooking inspired by the seasons and the British countryside.

Working with exceptional local produce wild ingredients and a genuine nose-to-tail philosophy the kitchen delivers refined yet approachable dishes that evolve constantly throughout the year. The Restaurant

This is a kitchen that celebrates Britains incredible natural larder.

Working closely with local farmers producers and suppliers the menus showcase the very best seasonal ingredients alongside wild food harvested from the surrounding countryside. Every part of the ingredient is respected creating thoughtful dishes that minimise waste while maximising flavour.

Housed within one of Stratford-upon-Avons most historic buildings the restaurant combines centuries of heritage with contemporary British cooking creating a unique dining experience built around exceptional food and genuine hospitality.


The Role

Working closely alongside the Head Chef you will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the kitchen while helping deliver consistently exceptional standards throughout service.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with the daily running of the kitchen
  • Leading service and confidently managing the brigade in the Head Chefs absence
  • Preparing and delivering exceptional modern British dishes using outstanding seasonal produce
  • Assisting with menu development specials and recipe creation
  • Supervising mentoring and developing junior chefs
  • Supporting stock control ordering and food cost management
  • Maintaining exceptional food hygiene and kitchen organisation
  • Helping drive consistency quality and a positive kitchen culture

  • Current Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef ready for the next step
  • Experience within quality fresh-food kitchens

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and consistently high standards
  • Positive attitude with a genuine passion for developing both themselves and others
